Ray Charles's first experience of Qigong began at the age of 13 while practicing Lau Gar Kung Fu under Master Stan Brown. Over the years of practicing various martial art styles such as, Lau Gar, Tai Chi, Wing Chun Kung Fu and Shinkendo, his passion for Qigong meditation grew. This in turn led Ray to research deeper into the art of Qigong, over 20 years of practice he became exposed to several Qigong masters and gained more experience of different styles.
In 2008 Ray intensified his Qigong training with Qigong Master Ching-Wen Yang, and now certified to teach. Master Yang is a healer and from an ancient Taiwanese Qigong lineage and teaching tradition. He has been trained by various meditation & healing masters including Tsangsar Tulku Rinpoche, Qigong Master Mr Lim Hai Ping and Daoist doctor Chen Zong Guang. Master Ching-Wen Yang has certified Ray to teach ''Foo Ming Qigong'' a Qigong system developed by Master Ching-Wen Yang. Foo Ming is a term from Tao Te Ching, whose authorship has been attributed to Laozi. Foo Ming means back to the origins of life, which is the objective of practicing Qigong.
